Racine Rhinos Announce New Logo Set

RACINE - The Racine Rhinos today unveiled their complete logo package, including their primary and secondary logos as well as their wordmark.

"Our temporary logo was OK for a fill-in purpose, but we always wanted a more recognizeable set," Rhinos founder/CEO Michael Burmeister stated.  "Fortunately, one of my friends in the logo business, Michael Taylor from Florida, told me he was willing to help out with our logo set.  And let me tell you, he designed a winner, so I give a major thank you to him!"  Terms of the agreement are not disclosed per team policy.

The primary logo features "Rosie"'s head facing east.  In addition to providing a recognizeable brand, the east-facing could also be seen as a nod to Racine's location, facing Lake Michigan.

However, the secondary logo will likely be the more marketable one.  Featuring the State of Wisconsin's outline, the secondary logo includes a pointed "R" from the wordmark and a star marking Racine's location in the state of Wisconsin.  "I've already gotten plenty of comments as to how marketable this one will be here," Burmeister continued. "From the state's outline slightly resembling a rhino to the end of the R's tail pointing towards the Racine-star, expect to see this logo on our coach's hat, and several other merchandise thereof!"

Finally, the Rhinos wordmark represents our edginess and marketability well.  Although we likely won't be able to post it in the endzones, it does an excellent job providing a professional wordmark.

The Rhinos thank Michael Taylor once again for his amazing work, and we look forward to displaying it at our future events!

Two Perks of Being a WSFL Team

Posted by Burmy on March 12, 2010 at 5:05 PM Comments comments (0)

In addition to the low costs and owner-run setup for the WSFL, the Rhinos also have the advantage of a close business relationship with the WSFL's two primary sponsors.

Defend Her Sports, Inc. is the original (and still ONLY) manufacturer of football uniforms specifically made for women.  Their mission is to provide good equipment for today's women to enjoy all the activities that men have dominated for so long.  They will design the Rhinos' uniforms-in return, we pledge our loyal and unwavering support to them and their cause!  Check out http://www.defendhersports.com/index.html for more information.

In addition, the WSFL teams have the opportunity to compete in exhibition games against the Duo Sports Tiger Sharks traveling team.  The program is directed by Anthony Bartley, first owner/head coach of the NIFL's Los Angeles Lynx, then owner of the WFA's California Lynx, and now he has shifted his attention to this globetrotting venture.  The best of the WSFL players have the opportunity to potentially join the Tiger Sharks squad.  For more info on this venture visit http://www.duo-sports.blogspot.com/.

The Racine Rhinos are a women's football team set to begin play in 2011 as a member of the Women's Spring Football League (WSFL).  Based in Wisconsin's fifth-largest city of Racine, the Rhinos look to be as much a vital part of the community as the men's Raiders and Threat are.

Right now this is only the temporary website for the Rhinos-soon you'll get a much better site with far more in-depth information and plenty more pages!  So get ready, Racine, because the Rhinos are ready to charge!

Rhinos Dance Team - The Stampeders

Posted by Burmy on March 3, 2010 at 2:37 PM Comments comments (0)

Since the Rhinos are playing women's football, naturally the dance team should be made up of men.

However, the dance team we have in mind, the "Stampeders" would be inspired by the Chicago Bulls' Matadors, a group that combines dance routines and comedy to add to the enjoyable experience for Rhinos fans.

If you wish to join the Stampeders or become a coordinator, please send an e-mail to racinerhinos@gmail.com.
